Coventry City are reportedly hopeful of signing Cardiff City defender Ben Turner on a short-term loan deal.
The 27-year-old, who spent six years with the Sky Blues after coming through the club's youth ranks, is said to have been earmarked as a replacement for Reda Johnson.
Turner was a mainstay in the Cardiff side that won promotion to the Premier League three seasons ago, but various injury issues have seen his playing time restricted over the past 12 months.
According to the Coventry Telegraph, the Englishman will link-up with his former side this week to join in training ahead of next weekend's big League One clash against Gillingham.
Despite recently playing an hour for Cardiff's development side, Turner is still not yet ready for the demands of first-team football after a several-month layoff.
Coventry boss Tony Mowbray has been on the lookout for defensive cover following the recent loss of Johnson, who is likely to miss the remainder of the campaign.
