Relegation-threatened Cowdenbeath claimed a valuable three points by defeating Dumbarton 3-0 in their Scottish Championship clash this afternoon.
Just before half time, Lewis Toshney scored his first goal for the club, pouncing on the rebound after Kudus Oyenuga's shot was blocked by Danny Rogers.
Three minutes into the second half, the hosts doubled their lead in similar fashion to their first goal, with Sean Higgins tapping in after Rogers parried Oyenuga's shot.
Colin Nish's header from Colin Marshall's cross wrapped up the victory for Cowdenbeath, who had not scored in six home games prior to this match.
Victory for the hosts leaves them two points ahead of Alloa Athletic, who are in ninth place but have a game in hand.
