Crewe Alexandra have ended a run of four consecutive defeats in League One by claiming a 2-1 win over Coventry City this afternoon.
George Ray came close to giving the hosts an early lead, but after getting on the end of Matt Tootle's free kick, he lifted an effort over the bar.
Febian Brandy opened the scoring for Crewe in the 26th minute when he was played through by Oliver Turton, before slotting the ball past the keeper.
The hosts doubled their lead six minutes later through George Cooper, who curled a free kick into the top corner.
In the 48th minute Coventry pulled a goal back, as Anthony Grant headed Danny Pugh's free kick into his own net.
The visitors' hopes of getting a second took a blow when Jack Finch was sent off for bringing down Brandy and they failed to create any chances in the closing stages to ensure that their winless run in the league stretched to five matches.
