Niko Kovac has said that he was disappointed with the behaviour of Croatia fans during Sunday's Euro 2016 qualifier against Italy.
The match at the San Siro was temporarily stopped in both halves by the referee after visiting fans threw fireworks and smoke bombs onto the pitch.
"I apologise to everyone, especially the Italians, for our supporters' behaviour," BBC Sport quotes Kovac as saying.
"I was disappointed and helpless, there are no right words for this. If someone has a problem, he has to deal with it outside the stadium."
The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
