Cruzeiro striker Wellington Paulista has confirmed that he is on the verge of joining West Ham United.
Paulista will arrive in England tomorrow to undergo a medical with a view to joining the Hammers on loan until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old, who is Brazilian but holds a Spanish passport, is looking forward to testing his skills in the Premier League.
"I have had two successful spells at Cruzeiro," he told Lancenet. "I thank the fans for their kindness during the time I was honouring the blue shirt.
"I am sure I am leaving via the front door and I hope I can return in the future.
"The transfer was good for everyone involved, now I'll work hard to succeed in this new stage of my career."
Paulista was part of the Botafogo team that won the Campeonato Carioca in 2008.
