Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke has undergone minor surgery on his knee.
Benteke has not made an appearance for the Eagles since the start of September but with the injury having not improved, the Belgium international was left requiring an operation.
However, while acknowledging that Benteke will miss a number of weeks, Palace have suggested that the 27-year-old will not face a lengthy spell away from the pitch.
A club statement read: "The club can confirm Christian Benteke has undergone minor arthroscopic explorative surgery and washout of his knee.
"The surgeon was happy with the outcome and we expect Christian to return to training very soon. A further update will be given in a few weeks' time."
Benteke had previously started in each of Palace's first four fixtures in the Premier League.
