Crystal Palace are reportedly handed a positive update as midfielder Eberechi Eze could return as quickly as next week after a long spell out through injury.

Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze has reportedly been given a target of next week for his return from a long spell on the sidelines through injury.

The 23-year-old was sidelined late last season, and he was initially not expected to return to action until after the turn of the year.

However, according to the Daily Mail, a positive update has said that the Englishman could return as quickly as next week, after a previous announcement identified November for Eze's reintroduction into the Eagles' squad.

The midfielder has been ruled out since May after picking up a serious Achilles issue in the final month of last season.

Before that, he made 34 appearances in his debut Premier League campaign following a move from neighbours Queens Park Rangers, netting four goals and providing six assists in the top flight.
