Alan Pardew has claimed that a 1-1 draw was the fair result between Everton and Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.
Under pressure for long spells of the second half, Palace opened the scoring against the run of play when Scott Dann headed home with 14 minutes of normal time remaining.
Romelu Lukaku hit back for the hosts to ensure the points were shared, and Pardew believes that his side did enough to deserve the draw.
"We knew we were playing Everton today in a good place," the Eagles boss told reporters. "They were at the top of their game.
"We had to hang on at times, but then we could have won. That's the kind of team that we are. They worked us hard.
"I thought a draw was a fair result. We're very pleased - sixth place with a home game to come."
Palace return to action against Southampton at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
