Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew bemoans his team's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in Wednesday's Premier League clash at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has revealed his disappointment after his team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in Wednesday night's Premier League clash at Selhurst Park.

James McArthur cancelled out a Paul Pogba effort to leave the two teams on terms in the second period, but Man United won it in the 88th minute courtesy of a Zlatan Ibrahimovic strike.

Pardew has refused to criticise his players, however, despite a ninth Premier League defeat of the season leaving the Eagles just three points outside of the relegation zone.

"We tried to make it difficult for Man United. We deserved to come in at half time at 0-0. A couple of decisions went against us," Pardew told reporters.

"We had a great spell in the second half, scored a great goal and couldn't hold on. We were undone by two of their best players. For large periods United were good and we were resilient, which is a positive. I feel for my players, they deserve a break and they're not getting one."

Next up for Palace is a home game against league leaders Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
