Alan Pardew: 'Robert Snodgrass will be embarrassed by dive'

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew believes that Hull City midfielder Robert Snodgrass will be "embarrassed" by his apparent dive during the 3-3 draw between the sides.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has criticised Hull City midfielder Robert Snodgrass after he appeared to dive to win a penalty during today's Premier League clash between the two sides.

Snodgrass won and converted the spot kick to give the Tigers a first-half lead at the KCOM Stadium, although replays showed that there was no contact from Palace defender Scott Dann.

The match ultimately finished 3-3, but Pardew refused to blame the referee for costing his side valuable points.

"Fabrication would be the word I'd use. I think we all want it out of the game," he told reporters.

"I said to the referee, 'I'm going to defend you'. It's difficult at match speed to call that right. He gets that wrong.

"But Snodgrass really needs to have a look at himself in that situation. I'm sure when he looks at it back on Match of the Day he'll be embarrassed."

Snodgrass has since taken to Twitter to apologise for the incident, admitting that it was "never a penalty".
