Crystal Palace and Burnley remain without a win this season in the Premier League after playing out a goalless draw at Selhurst Park.

Scott Dann came closest to opening the scoring in the first half with his headed effort which came back off the crossbar, while Wilfried Zaha saw his shot saved on the line.

It was Burnley who should have won the game late on, however, with referee Mike Dean awarding the Clarets a penalty which Scott Arfield failed to convert six minutes from time.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at who impressed during the stalemate in South London.

CRYSTAL PALACE

Goal

Julian Speroni: Very much the hero of the day with his penalty save rescuing the home side a share of the spoils six minutes from time. (8/10)

Defence

Adrian Mariappa: A third successive start for the 27-year-old, who stayed solid throughout this afternoon to justify his inclusion. (7/10)

Scott Dann: Was a crossbar's width away from putting Palace ahead early on, and he can also be happy with his defensive contribution. (8/10)

Damien Delaney: Was a constant menace when it came to attacking corners, coming close on a couple of occasions, while he also stood firm at the heart of defence. (8/10)

Joel Ward: The versatile defender looked to get forward, and, like the rest of his defensive teammates it would have been harsh to see his clean sheet evaporate. (7/10)

Midfield

Jason Puncheon: Linked up well out wide with Mariappa and was often the go-to man for the Eagles, but was unable to find a way through. (7/10)

Mile Jedinak: So often the rock who denies opposition players in front of the Palace backline, Jedinak was poor this afternoon, conceding a penalty late on to cap off his day. (5/10)

James McArthur: A promising display from the £7m summer signing, who will play a huge part under Neil Warnock this season in his deep-lying role. (8/10)

Wilfried Zaha: As skilful as ever out wide, Zaha really does look at home at Selhurst Park. On today's display he needs to work on his end product, however. (7/10)

Attack

Fraizer Campbell: Failed to make an impact on his 28th birthday, and was withdrawn on the hour. Needs to do far more of he is to justify his inclusion. (6/10)

Dwight Gayle: Has a great ability to find himself in the right place at the right time, and was inches away from tapping home in the second half. Could have done better with an early effort from inside the box. (7/10)

Substitutes

Kevin Doyle: Doyle can certainly provide a decent option from the bench, but his lack of action at this level told when he came on. (6/10)

Jonny Williams: The Wales international looked very lively when introduced, but faded out of the game. Needs to add consistency to his game, but certainly has a lot of promise. (7/10)

Yannick Bolasie: Has had to do a lot of travelling this week due to international commitments, but he linked up well with Williams immediately after coming on. (7/10)

BURNLEY

Goal

Tom Heaton: He will have busier afternoons in the Premier League, but as ever Heaton stood up to the challenge to earn a clean sheet. (8/10)

Defence

Kieran Trippier: A key player for Burnley, Trippier often looked to pick out teammates from out wide, but was unable to help make the breakthrough. (7/10)

Michael Duff: Duff went unnoticed for large parts of the game, which can surely only be a good thing for a defender. Will be delighted with the clean sheet. (7/10)

Jason Shackell: Did brilliantly to read the danger and clear Zaha's effort off the line which saved his side from falling behind. (8/10)

Ben Mee: Pushed forward, but in the first half in particular he was being pinned back by Palace's wingers. (7/10)

Midfield

Scott Arfield: Burnley's liveliest player across the 90 minutes, and was involved in most of their good play this afternoon. Did miss a key penalty at the end, though. (7/10)

David Jones: Was involved in some nice intricate build-up play in the second half, which culminated in Speroni being forced into a save. (7/10)

Dean Marney: Was quiet overall, and the Clarets strikers need more service from him if they are to end their goal drought. (6/10)

George Boyd: He might not have found the target, but debutant Boyd looked energetic from start to finish. Will play a huge part in Burnley's survival bid. (8/10)

Attack

Lucas Jutkiewicz: Won his side a penalty six minutes from time, although he could perhaps have done better when played through in second half, with his lack of pace letting him down. (7/10)

Danny Ings: Looked in the mood to make his Premier League breakthrough when he had an early pen appeal turned down, but was replaced after seemingly pulling his hamstring. Big blow. (6/10)

Substitutes

Marvin Sordell: By no means a bad display from Sordell who played over 45 minutes at Selhurst Park, but he will have hoped to have done more to win a starting spot. (7/10)
