Crystal Palace suffered their first defeat of pre-season by going down 2-0 to Union Berlin this afternoon.
Glenn Murray thought that he had given Palace the lead after 15 minutes, but his header was ruled out because of a foul in the area.
The striker then tumbled in the box and wanted a penalty, but the referee played on and soon half time arrived with few clear-cut chances for either side.
The second half began much like the first, with both sides struggling to create much until the 57th minute when Steven Skrzybski went clear and put the hosts in front by beating Wayne Hennessey.
Palace new boy Yohan Cabaye had the ball in the net, but like Murray his effort was chalked off, this time because of offside.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but it was German second-tier side Berlin who got the second just before the final whistle and once again it was Skrzybski on target.
