Crystal Palace are said to be close to a deal for Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Rob Green after the Championship side offered him up for sale.
The 36-year-old earns £50,000 a week at Loftus Road and the club are keen to offload him from their wage bill as they bid for an instant return to the Premier League this term.
Green has not featured for QPR since New Year's Day as he will automatically be entitled to a new contract if he reaches 30 appearances this season.
That is unlikely to remain an issue for much longer, however, as a report in the Daily Mail claims that Palace are poised to sign Green on a deadline-day deal to provide competition for Wayne Hennessey, Julian Speroni and Alex McCarthy.
Green has 12 caps for England to his name but has not featured for the national side since 2012.
