Brede Hangeland has agreed a new one-year contract with Crystal Palace.
It seemed that the Norwegian's season-long stint at Selhurst Park had come to an end last Wednesday when the South Londoners announced that he was among a list of 18 players that had been released.
However, just five days later, the Eagles have confirmed that the 33-year-old will now spend another 12 months with the club.
"I'm delighted to have signed with Crystal Palace for the new season. I have really enjoyed working under Alan Pardew and we have a very talented squad who are all a really good bunch of lads to be around," he told the club's official website.
"These are very exciting times at the club and I look forward to playing a part in making next year another successful one."
Hangeland scored two goals during his 17 appearances last term.
