Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has suggested that he does not want to allow any players to leave Selhurst Park on loan.
Jason Puncheon and Sullay Kaikai have both been linked with a temporary switch to a club competing in the EFL, with both players featuring down the pecking order in the Eagles' squad.
However, Hodgson has said that he would have concerns over the depth of his squad if he allowed any departures before the end of August.
At a press conference, Hodgson told reporters: "We don't have that many players and if we let go of those players we might struggle to get a team out. We have got a small squad here. We have added three and lost five from last season so I am not anxious to loan players.
"We are going to have to look at the situation and ask can we afford to let this player to go? Much as they might not be first choice and they would relish to get more regular game time, they are contracted to us."
Palace have registered three points from their opening two Premier League games against Fulham and Liverpool.
