Crystal Palace are reportedly engaged in surprise deadline-day talks to sign Saido Berahino from Championship side Stoke City.
The 25-year-old moved to the Potters from West Bromwich Albion two years ago after a series of disciplinary issues sparked in part by a failed transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.
Berahino famously went 913 days without scoring a goal until he found the net for Stoke in the EFL Cup last August, and this term he has contributed three goals in 22 Championship appearances for Nathan Jones's side.
Palace previously failed with a £17m bid for the player in the summer of 2016, and according to The Sun, the club have submitted a fresh offer for the player today that has been accepted.
Eagles manager Roy Hodgson knows Berahino well from his previous incarnation as Baggies boss and is confident that he can get the best out of the striker.
Palace have already brought Bakary Sako back to Selhurst Park this month in order to strengthen their attacking options for the second half of the season.
