Crystal Palace had a deadline-day approach for French striker Moussa Dembele knocked back by Celtic, according to a report.
The 21-year-old had been the subject of interest from a couple of Premier League clubs throughout the January transfer window, leaving him feeling unsettled at Celtic Park.
Brighton & Hove Albion are the other side rumoured to have shown an interest in Dembele, with an unsuccessful bid being lodged last month, and the Scottish Sun claims that rivals Palace also fell short with their approach.
Eagles bosses are said to have been informed that Dembele was no longer for sale at such a late stage in the window, particularly in the wake of news that fellow striker Leigh Griffiths is to miss at least a month through injury.
Palace also missed out on Ibrahim Amadou on the final day of activity as Lille refused to let the midfielder leave the club.
