Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has reportedly identified Aiden McGeady as a transfer target in the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old joined CSKA Moscow from Celtic in 2010, but with his contract beginning to run down, McGeady is believed to be keen to secure a return to Britain at the earliest possible opportunity.
O'Neill and McGeady have previous history, with the winger having been given his big chance for Celtic by the current Sunderland boss during his stint at the Parkhead helm.
With that in mind, O'Neill is hoping that he will be able to tempt the Republic of Ireland international to the Stadium of Light at the end of the current campaign, according to The People.
Wigan Athletic are also said to be interested in McGeady's services.
