Cyprus had to come from behind to avoid a shock defeat at the hands of Andorra this evening, beating them 3-1 in Euro 2016 qualifying.
Andorra took a shock lead within the opening two minutes when Dossa Junior directed the ball into his own net.
The lead did not last for long though, as Nestoras Mitidis directed the ball into the bottom left corner of the net.
Andorra had two chances to score within the space of a minute. First, Cristian Martinez's shot was saved before Aaron Sanchez missed the target from 15 yards.
Cyprus began to dominate towards the end of the first half, and Mitidis added his second in stoppage time, heading in from close range after Georgios Efrem's corner.
Andorra's Marc Rebes gave away a penalty just after the restart, but Junior's spot kick was saved.
Mitidis completed his hat trick in the 52nd minute, scoring from close range to put the game beyond the reach of Andorra.
He had the chance to add a fourth on the hour mark, heading over the bar after a Marios Nikolaou cross.
Martinez twice tried to find a late consolation goal for Andorra but was stopped by the Cyprus defence.
