Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki has surpassed Moses Malone to move into seventh place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.
Nowitzki hit a three-pointer with 34.8 seconds left in overtime against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Centre on Monday night, which gave the Mavs an eight-point lead en route to a victory.
However, it also helped him surpass Malone and move into seventh spot with 27,412 career points and coach Rick Carlisle was delighted with his latest achievement.
"You couldn't have a more fitting way for Dirk to pass Moses for seventh on the all-time scoring list," Carlisle told reporters. "It's unbelievable."
The 36-year-old now sits behind Shaquille O'Neal in sixth place on 28,596 points.
