Kwame Thomas's loan spell at Blackpool has been cut short after being recalled by parent club Derby County.
The 20-year-old, who made a total of 22 appearances for the Tangerines, was due to remain at Bloomfield Road until January,
Derby have now taken the option to bring the striker back to the iPro Stadium, however, which Blackpool boss Neil McDonald admits is a big blow to his side's League One survival hopes.
"We're disappointed to lose Kwame - he's developed as a player in his time with us and played first-team football on a regular basis," he told the club's official website.
"Derby County always held the option to recall him and that has obviously now been activated. We thank him for his contribution and wish him the very best for the future."
Thomas, who was used five times by Derby last season either side of a Notts County loan stint, failed to score during his four months at Blackpool.
