New Derby County head coach Frank Lampard has said that no conversations have been held with John Terry regarding a potential transfer to Pride Park.
On Thursday morning, Lampard was confirmed as the replacement for Gary Rowett, with the Chelsea legend being handed a three-year contract by the Championship club.
John Terry has become a free agent after being released by Aston Villa, but Lampard has suggested that an approach for his former Blues teammate is currently not on the agenda.
At a press conference, the 39-year-old told reporters: "I haven't spoken to John, I got a message this morning. At the moment he's in Greece on holiday.
"There are conversations ongoing across the board, that isn't one of them. These conversations start now. John's had a great career but we'll concentrate on what we want to do here."
Lampard is yet to name his backroom staff but Chelsea academy coach Jody Morris has been linked with the role of assistant manager.
