Derby County manager Steve McClaren has confirmed that he will be looking to bring in players on loan before the start of the new campaign.
McClaren's side fell agonisingly short of promotion last season after losing to Queens Park Rangers in the Championship playoff final, and he is hoping that loan players can once again play a big part for the team.
"We are always looking to improve," the former England manager told the Derby Telegraph. "I think there are still two or three positions we still need to work on and we are doing that.
"The loan window will be good for us. There will be some good players available and we utilised [the loan market] very well last season and need to do the same."
Derby begin the season against Rotherham United on August 9.
