Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk winger Matheus Nascimento suffered a broken nose in the Europa League final against Sevilla this evening.
The Brazilian collapsed with no opposition player around him during the final 10 minutes of the showpiece event in Warsaw tonight, with teammates hurriedly waving medical staff onto the field.
Matheus was carried off on a stretcher, although the relative lack of medical attention he received on the field suggested that the situation was not as serious as first feared.
That has proved to be the case, with the 32-year-old suffering a broken nose during a challenge with Sevilla's Benoit Tremoulinas moments before.
Play quickly resumed after the stoppage, with Sevilla going on to win a record fourth Europa League title courtesy of a 3-2 victory.
