A debut goal from Theo Robinson has given Doncaster Rovers a 1-0 half-time lead over Blackburn Rovers in their Championship match at the Keepmoat Stadium tonight.
The visitors have enjoyed the majority of the possession, but Donny created the better chances and the lively Robinson took one of them, meeting a James Husband free kick at the near post to head past Jake Kean on 37 minutes.
Kean had previously been called into action to save James Coppinger's deflected shot, while David Cotterill also tested him with a fierce low drive that the Blackburn keeper parried away.
At the other end, Jordan Rhodes came close to breaking the deadlock when he rounded Ross Turnbull, but failed to sneak the ball in from a tight angle.
Rhodes's Scottish international colleague Grant Hanley was also unfortunate to not open the scoring when his thumping header from Tom Cairney's corner flew just over the crossbar.
Chris Taylor thought he had equalised for Blackburn before the break, but Robinson's strike continued to separate the sides when Rhodes was flagged offside in the same incident.
