New Doncaster Rovers manager Dean Saunders was happy to see fans smiling after his side's 1-0 win against Crystal Palace.
The former Wales striker was officially appointed on Friday and John Oster's deflected effort claimed all three points in his first match in charge.
"We got a bit of luck with the goal but if you don't chance your arm and shoot you don't score.
"It's early days for me and we've got quite a bit of work to do but we can improve no end on that performance.
"It was vital to get three points and to keep a clean sheet was a bonus but best of all was to see the supporters leaving the ground with a smile on their faces."
The result keeps Rovers bottom of the Championship, but they are now only two points from safety.
