Macheda scored his second goal of the game shortly after the break when he slotted home a pass from Richie Wellens.
Forest drew level for the second time with nine minutes to go when Reid fired past Turnbull.
Jamie Paterson should have won it for the visitors moments later but he hit his effort straight at the keeper from close range.
