Doncaster Rovers eased to a comfortable 3-0 win over 10-man Charlton Athletic in their Championship clash at the Keepmoat Stadium.
The visitors started the game well as skipper Johnnie Jackson picked the ball up in midfield and drove forward. He then decided to shoot from 30 yards but his effort sailed well over the crossbar.
Doncaster responded to this threat as this time Jackson was dispossessed in midfield. Billy Sharp tried a shot at goal from the edge of the area, but Michael Morrison did well to get across to block his goalbound effort.
The home side took the lead in the 26th minute as a corner was whipped into the area, and after a scramble in the six-yard box Abdoulaye Meite was there to poke the ball into the net past Ben Alnwick.
Matters got worse for Charlton when Paul Dickov's side doubled their lead and the Addicks were reduced to 10 men when Lawrie Wilson brought Sharp down in the penalty area, and was duly dismissed leaving Chris Brown to slot the kick past Alnwick.
After the break, Doncaster looked to extend their advantage when Mark Duffy whipped a corner into the box from the left which curled dangerously towards goal, but Alnwick managed to tip it over the bar.
However, Duffy did find the net in the 67th minute to all but seal the game for the hosts as he collected Paul Keegan's pass and drilled an effort past Alnwick from 25 yards with a clinical finish.
Sharp had the chance to add the icing on the cake for the home side but he missed the target from six yards. Richie Wellens hit the crossbar late on, but it was still a comfortable win for Rovers.
