A howler from Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was enough for Doncaster Rovers to secure a 1-0 victory over the Foxes at the Keepmoat Stadium.
The Dane was culpable for the game's only goal, as Mark Duffy's corner was parried into the goal by the 26-year-old keeper on 17 minutes.
The visitors responded well, though, and came close to drawing level. Anthony Knockaert fired a right-footed shot from the edge of the area, only for goalkeeper Ross Turnbull to parry the effort to safety.
Schmeichel atoned for his earlier error midway through the first half when Manchester United loanee Federico Macheda set up strike partner Theo Robinson, who forced a smart save from the former Leeds United 'keeper.
The Foxes came within inches of restoring parity on the stroke of half time, but Knockaert's fine shot shaved the outside of the post.
Nigel Pearson's men emerged from the interval as the dominant team, but struggled to turn possession into clear-cut opportunities for much of the second half, with Rob Jones in particular proving impressive in Donny's rearguard.
However, the visitors should have drawn level on 69 minutes, but Turnbull produced an excellent save to keep out David Nugent.
With frustration growing in the away stand, Pearson's men were urged forward by the travelling fans in the dying embers, but Rovers managed to hold on for an impressive victory at the Keepmoat.
