Doncaster Rovers manager Paul Dickov has revealed that he is planning contract talks with midfielder Richie Wellens.
The 33-year-old rejoined the South Yorkshire club during the summer on a short-term deal after being released by Leicester City.
Wellens's current contract will expire in January and Dickov has said that he wants to keep hold of the player.
"That (a new contract for Wellens) is something we're looking at," Dickov told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"He wants to stay and we want him to stay. If I wasn't optimistic about him staying then I wouldn't have made him my captain."
Wellens has made 18 appearances for Doncaster this season.
