Former Arsenal and France winger Robert Pires has turned down the opportunity to join Championship side Doncaster Rovers.
Reports yesterday revealed that Rovers had made an approach to the 38-year-old free agent regarding a short-term contract at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Pires took to Twitter to confirm Doncaster's interest, but also admitted that he will not be joining the Championship's bottom-placed club.
"Doncaster people called me! i am happy they think i can help them but it's not in my plan to play there," he said.
Pires has been without a club since his summer release by Aston Villa.
