Jackie McNamara has expressed his happiness after watching his Dundee United side claim a 3-1 win against Motherwell on Friday evening.
Ryan Dow grabbed the opener when he beat Gunnar Nielsen on 22 minutes.
A Gavin Gunning double either side of half time made it comfortable for the hosts, but John Sutton pulled a goal back for the visitors from the penalty spot after Nadir Ciftci was penalised for a handball.
"I thought we were excellent in the first half but got a bit sloppy in the second half - it was a bit stop-start. But I'm delighted with the win," McNamara told reporters.
"I didn't think it was a free kick leading up to the penalty - but it gave them a lift and something to push for."
The Terrors are now six points behind Motherwell in the league table.
