Brechin City consolidated their place in the top four and continued their incredible unbeaten run with a 1-0 victory over Dunfermline Athletic this evening.
The away side amassed five yellow cards in a bad-tempered first half that was low on goalmouth action as Graeme Smith, Ryan Ferguson, Paul McLean, Bobby Barr and Craig Molloy all had their names taken.
However, Robert Thomson went close for the visitors immediately after the restart before Ryan Scully made a smart save from Alan Trouten.
Trouten, so often the hero for Brechin this season, then pounced to head home Thomson's cross for his 12th goal of the campaign on 73 minutes.
Gregor Buchanan came close to rescuing a dramatic late draw for the home side, but his header deep into injury time flew narrowly wide of goal.
