England and Ecuador both finish with 10 men in their 2-2 draw at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami.

England and Ecuador both finished with 10 men as they shared a 2-2 draw in their international friendly at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami this evening.

Despite England dominating possession in the opening couple of minutes, it was Ecuador who found the back of the net early on when Enner Valencia headed in from a Walter Ayovi cross.

Ben Foster had to remain alert to prevent the South Americans from extending their lead, as Jefferson Montero and Carlos Gruezo both had efforts kept out by the keeper.

Roy Hodgson's side were able to get back on level terms shortly before the half-hour mark when Rickie Lambert struck his shot onto the crossbar, only for Wayne Rooney to fire in from the rebound.

England started brightly again after the break and edged ahead for the first time in the match when Lambert fired the ball in first time from a Ross Barkley pass.

The new Liverpool striker almost added his second a few minutes later after a fast run from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but Maximo Banguera just tipped it wide.

Enner Valencia had a chance to score a second for himself and Ecuador in the 67th minute, but he scuffed his shot onto the post before Phil Jones managed to head it out.

Ecuador were back on level terms just three minutes later though when Michael Arroyo scored just a minute after coming off the bench, powering the ball into the top corner.

The friendly was marred by a clash between Raheem Sterling and Antonio Valencia with just over 10 minutes to play, after the Ecuador captain reacted angrily to a rash challenge from the England winger, which saw them both sent off.

With both sides down to 10 men, neither were able to rally for a late winner, ensuring that the sides finished level.
