Eibar secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao in their La Liga clash this evening.
Eibar dominated the first half, with Gorka Iraizoz forced into a number of important saves - first to deny Saul Berjon before producing an impressive stop after a Mauro dos Santos header.
The hosts kept the pressure on their Basque neighbours, as winger Keko missed a good opportunity to open the scoring.
Eibar were rewarded for their positive approach with a penalty, after Aymeric Laporte brought down Sergi Enrich in the penalty area. Berjon took the spot kick and finished past Iraizoz.
In the second half, the home side continued to have the better of the opportunities and soon doubled their lead as Adrian headed past Iraizoz after latching on to Berjon's cross into the box.
Athletic pushed to get back into the game, but struggled to test Asier Riesgo in the Eibar net as Ager Aketxe drilled two left-footed strikes over the bar.
Borja Baston almost added a third for the home side in the dying minutes when he was played through in on goal, but Iraizoz made a good stop to keep the scoreline down.
