Eintracht Braunschweig have drawn with high-flying Borussia Monchengladbach, although the point still keeps them at the bottom of the Bundesliga table.
Braunschweig started the brighter of the two teams, but in the eighth minute Jan Hochscheidt's shot from outside the box was ambitious and went a few yards wide of the left-hand post.
Hochscheidt had another effort, this time from close range, but his shot flew over the bar, before Martin Stranzl met a Max Kruse header at the other end but missed the target completely.
The home side remained solid but they went behind midway through the half in unfortunate circumstances. Daniel Davari met a corner from Raffael, but he could only put it into his own net.
Hochscheidt finally found his range with a shot just before the break, but although he hit the target, his effort was comfortably kept out by Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Gladbach's goalkeeper Ter Stegen himself managed a spectacular own goal to level matters on the night and a shell-shocked away team could not restore their lead, which meant that they had to settle for a point.
