El Salvador and Canada shared the spoils in a cagey Group B clash in the CONCACAF Gold Cup today.
El Salvador had the first effort on goal through Irving Herrera, but his shot was saved by Canada's Kiriakos Stamatopoulos.
The striker wasted another good chance 20 minutes later as Stamatopoulos made another low save, in what proved to bee the best opportunity in a tight first half.
El Salvador continued to have the upper hand after the break as Arturo Alvarez shot marginally wide, before Canada created their first meaningful chance of the game for Samuel Piette, but he also missed the target.
The Central American country looked like the more likely winners later on as Stamatopoulos was called upon again to keep out Alvarez and Andres Flores.
However, Canada held firm to earn a draw despite El Salvador's late pressure.
