Elche have moved up a place to 16th in La Liga on goal difference thanks to a 1-1 home draw against Sevilla on Saturday night, with both goals arriving late on.
The hosts saw plenty of the ball early on, but neither side were able to test their opposition goalkeeper in the opening 15 minutes of the game.
That was until the 20th minute, when Carlos Bacca got clear of the Elche defence but his effort was smothered at close range by Tono in the home goal.
Sevilla were now on top and could have gone ahead 15 minutes later as Jose Antonio Reyes combined with Ivan Rakitic to feed Bacca, but the striker turned the ball wide.
In the second half Bacca again had a brilliant chance, but with the goal gaping he slashed a half-volley wide.
The hosts looked set to punish Sevilla for their mistakes as Cristian Herrera thumped in an 82nd-minute header to put his side in front, but the visitors salvaged a late point with Daniel Caricco slotting in from close range in the last minute.
