Elgin City have kept their fine run of form going with a 2-1 win over Berwick at Borough Briggs that closes the gap on the top four.
Craig Thomson tested Berwick goalkeeper Billy Bald with a powerful strike early on, before the home side took the lead through Shane Sutherland on nine minutes.
Berwick went close when Paul Willis's looping header from a corner struck the post midway through the first half, before Andrew Russell also fired a shot narrowly wide as half time approached.
With a strong breeze behind them in the second half, Berwick were level when Willis made amends for his earlier miss with a confidently taken penalty just after the hour mark.
However, Sutherland's second of the game - only Elgin's 12th goal at home all season - came with a smart header on 72 minutes that wrapped up the win for the hosts.
