A strike from Manchester United forward James Wilson has given England Under-21s a 1-0 win over USA Under-23s in their friendly clash at Deepdale.
The hosts dominated proceedings in the first half as Calum Chambers headed over from James Ward-Prowse's free kick in the 11th minute, before Dele Alli, Jordan Pickford and Cauley Woodrow weighed in with a number of increasingly dangerous chances.
Neither side managed to break the deadlock by half time, before a glut of substitutions were made from both teams' managers - Chambers and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were the only players who began the game and stayed on at the hour mark.
England then succeeded in taking the lead in the 72nd minute as Duncan Watmore's effort was smartly saved by goalkeeper Zack Steffen, but Wilson was on hand to tap the rebound into the net.
The result means that Gareth Southgate's charges now have 22 consecutive wins on home soil ahead of Monday's opening European Championships qualifier against Norway.
