Scott Parker has thanked the England medical team for helping him to achieve his dream of going to a major tournament.
The 31-year-old was struggling with an Achilles injury, which had kept him out of the Tottenham Hotspur team towards the end of the Premier League campaign.
Parker said that he is pleased to have come through the Norway game without any recurrence of the problem.
"I've waited a long time to break into the England team, never mind go to a major tournament," said the midfielder. "To think I might not be there was disappointing, but the medical team have done a great job and I'm going.
"The injury couldn't have come at a worse time, for Spurs as well, coming at the back end of the season after doing so well.
"Norway was my first game for a while and I'm pleased I've come through it."
The Spurs midfielder made his Three Lions debut in 2003 and has gone on to win 12 caps.
