Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen is hoping to be fit in time for Belgium's friendly with England on Saturday.
The Belgian international has been struggling with a groin problem for a number of weeks and is a doubt for the friendly match. However, Vermaelen is desperate to play against some of his Gunners teammates at Wembley at the weekend.
I've been struggling for a few weeks now with my groin," Vermaelen told Sky Sports News.
"Of course, it's a friendly game, but it's a big game for us against England at Wembley.
"Everybody wants to play in that game and I'm doing everything to get fit to play in that game."
Vermaelen helped guide Arsenal to secure third spot in the Premier League this season.
