Former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur defender Sol Campbell has backed England to reach the semi-finals of next summer's European Championships in France.
The Three Lions have not reached the last four of major tournament that they have not hosted since the 1990 World Cup.
However, after they were drawn alongside Wales, Russia and Slovakia in the group stages, Campbell has claimed that Roy Hodgson's side have been given a platform to build upon.
"They've got a great chance and should definitely get out of the group. There will be some surprises so hopefully they've learnt that you can't give away anything these days," the 41-year-old told 888sport.com
"It's a young team, I understand that, but they should easily get to the quarter-finals and hopefully the semi-finals."
Campbell was capped on 73 occasions by England, from which he scored one goal.
