Harry Kane: England "confident" of progressing into quarter-finals

England striker Harry Kane claims that his side are still more than capable of winning Euro 2016, despite stuttering through their group-stage fixtures.

Harry Kane has declared himself fully fit for England's round-of-16 showdown with Iceland, and insisted that his side have what it takes to go all the way at Euro 2016.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker has failed to find the net in his last four Three Lions outings, including all three group-stage fixtures in France.

Kane was withdrawn at half time in England's second game at the Euros, an eventual 2-1 win over Wales, before being turned to in the final 15 minutes of the goalless draw with Slovakia last time out.

Talk of being fatigued following a gruelling season with club side Tottenham has been dismissed by Kane, however, who claims that England are still in good shape to progress past Iceland and make history over the next fortnight.

"I'm not tired. I feel sharp, I feel ready," he told reporters. "We want to beat Iceland and see who we get. We fancy ourselves against anyone. We've seen a lot of talk about being on this side of the draw. We're all calm. We're a pretty confident bunch.

"We know that to win a major tournament we will have to play some of the best teams in the world. We are focused on Iceland, they have done well in the games they have played. We are focused on winning the game and progressing.

"Looking at Iceland, that's what they like to do and hit on the counter-attack. If you're going to progress, you're going to have to deal with that. But it's definitely a tournament we can win. We are one of the best teams in the tournament."

Despite going four games without notching a goal, Kane still has 32 to his name for club and country this term in 63 outings.
