Wayne Rooney has said that England must try to get a positive result from their first qualifying match for Euro 2016.
Roy Hodgson's side take on Switzerland on Monday, having warmed up with a 1-0 win over Norway in a friendly earlier this week.
The recently-appointed captain told ITV Sport: "It is important to start the qualifying campaign off with a good result.
"It is important to try and win the game, but I think not to get beat and give Switzerland the upper hand from the first game is vital."
England will also play Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania and San Marino in their qualification group.
