Former England striker Alan Shearer has praised Wayne Rooney for consistently starring in the Three Lions' setup for over a decade.
The Manchester United striker broke Bobby Charlton's all-time England goalscoring record by firing home from the penalty spot in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Switzerland in Euro 2016 qualifying.
Shearer, joint sixth on the list, told BBC Sport: "It's a fantastic achievement to have stayed at the top for so many years.
"Rooney has been around for so many years and no-one has come in and taken the shirt off him and I can't see anyone doing that for the next few years."
Rooney made his Three Lions debut in 2003, aged 17.
