England striker Jamie Vardy has claimed that he 'does not go to the gym'.
Despite the rigours of the modern game, the Leicester City forward, who scored in England's 2-1 win over Wales at Euro 2016 on Thursday afternoon, does not perform strength work.
Vardy was pictured holding a can of Red Bull in France earlier this week, and the 29-year-old joked that was the last thing that he had lifted when asked about his work off the football pitch.
"The last time I lifted a weight? Probably that can of Red Bull the other day. I don't go to the gym, if I did it will slow me down. I don't go in for weights or anything like that," Vardy told reporters.
"Each and every person is different and this is my way, and I'm sure if someone else tried doing what I do then it probably wouldn't work for them. People have tried to drag me in but they've tried and not succeeded."
England currently sit top of Group B ahead of their clash with Slovakia on Monday night. Defeat, however, would open the door for either Slovakia or Wales to clinch first position.
