Ahead of their match tomorrow night, Sports Mole looks back on five memorable matches between England and Denmark.

England will take on Denmark for the 20th time when the two European nations meet at Wembley tomorrow night.

While the Three Lions lead the head-to-head record 11-3, the Danes have managed to win two of the last three encounters.

Ahead of their latest fixture, Sports Mole has picked out five of the most memorable clashes that they have played out.

1. England 5-2 Denmark, 1956
Hosting England opened up their 1958 World Cup qualifying campaign at Molineux with the visit of Denmark, who had recently been defeated by the Republic of Ireland. The home side raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to Manchester United frontman Tommy Taylor. However, a quickfire double from Ove Bech Nielsen drew the Danes level before the break. Taylor restored England's advantage shortly after the restart, before a brace scored by his club teammate Duncan Edwards sealed the outcome.

2. Denmark 2-2 England, 1982
Sir Bobby Robson got his England tenure underway with a 1984 European Championship qualifier in the Idraetspark against an emerging Denmark side. Trevor Francis twice put Robson's team in front, but they were first pegged back when Allan Hansen scored from the penalty spot in the 69th minute. Then, as the match entered stoppage time, winger Jesper Olsen beat several England players before sliding his shot beyond Peter Shilton to secure a share of the spoils for the hosts.

3. Denmark 0-3 England, 2002
England may have finished runners-up to Sweden in their 2002 World Cup group, but they were content with facing Denmark in the second round. Their confidence would be justified as three unanswered first-half goals from Rio Ferdinand, Michael Owen and Emile Heskey sealed their side's place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

4. England 2-3 Denmark, 2003
While Denmark were swept aside during the previous year's World Cup, they provided a much sterner test during a friendly match at Old Trafford just over 12 months later. Goals from Wayne Rooney and Joe Cole within the opening 10 minutes sandwiched a strike from Martin Jorgensen, who then equalised for a second time in the 30th minute. Both teams had chances to win the match after the restart, but it was former Newcastle United striker Jon Dahl Tomasson that sealed the game for the Scandinavians eight minutes from time.

5. Denmark 4-1 England, 2005
Two years later, the Danes inflicted an even bigger defeat on England - their largest since 1980. Three goals in the space of seven second-half minutes from Dennis Rommedahl , Tomasson and Michael Gravgaard put the hosts in the ascendancy, which rendered Rooney's goal in the 87th minute meaningless. There was still time in the closing stages for substitute Soren Larsen to fire in a fourth for Denmark.
