The FA have expressed their belief that the extra tickets allocated to Poland supporters for tomorrow's match at Wembley will generate a "rousing" atmosphere.

England face Poland in a must-win World Cup qualifying match, but the pre-game build-up has been dominated by controversy over the FA giving the visitors 18,000 tickets - twice the number required by FIFA's rules.

However, FA spokesman Scott Field believes that the away fans will merely add to the occasion inside a stadium that has been criticised for lacking atmosphere in the past.

"It is the biggest stadium in the country and it can cope with the capacity. We think it will make for a great atmosphere," Field told PA.

"Wembley is often accused of not having a good atmosphere at times and I think we are set for what will be a really rousing game."

A win for England would guarantee their place in next year's World Cup, while anything less than three points would be likely to see them forced into a playoff.
