Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster has revealed that making his debut for England has inspired him to work harder for a regular place.
Despite the Three Lions losing 2-0 to Chile at Wembley, Forster claimed that it was "fantastic" to represent his country.
Forster was beaten by two Alexis Sanchez goals on Friday night, but he did receive praise for a couple of fine saves.
"It's fantastic to make my debut," Forster told reporters after the game. "I've worked very hard ever since coming to Newcastle to get to this point.
"I've had a taste of international football being in and around the squad and this is what you want to be a part of. This is what you dream of as a kid.
"It's brilliant. It's a real inspiration to make me go and work harder."
Joe Hart is expected to return to the starting lineup for the friendly against Germany on Tuesday night.
